TreeAMS - Mitti (SafetyCulture) vs Zenput vs Jotform: Store Audit Tools Compared (2026)
SafetyCulture is now Mitti. Zenput is now Crunchtime Ops Execution. Here's how both compare to Jotform for multi-outlet store audits in 2026.
If you searched for SafetyCulture or Zenput this year and felt lost, you're not alone. Both names changed in 2026. Zenput became Crunchtime Ops Execution in February, and SafetyCulture (originally iAuditor) became Mitti in August. Jotform, meanwhile, is still the form builder many operators started with.
This guide is for operations leaders running 5 to 500 outlets in F&B, retail, fitness, wellness or education. You need audits done properly at every outlet, every shift. And you need to know what the results mean for the business, without spending your Monday compiling spreadsheets.
We've laid out where each tool genuinely shines, where it strains, and the one question all three leave open.
Mitti (SafetyCulture) vs Zenput vs Jotform: quick comparison of store audit tools
All three can run a store audit. The difference is what happens after the audit is submitted.

Jotform for store audits: easy to start, hard to scale
Jotform is where many operators begin, and for good reason. You can build a cleaning checklist in an afternoon, share a link, and staff fill it in on their phones.
The strain shows once you multiply forms by outlets by shifts. Do the maths on a modest network: 20 outlets running opening, mid-shift and closing checklists every day produce about 1,800 submissions a month. Per third-party breakdowns of Jotform's 2026 plans, that already rules out Bronze (1,000 submissions) and sits close to Silver's 2,500 cap. Hitting a cap stops a form from accepting submissions until the month resets or you upgrade.
Three other gaps matter more than price:
- One login: Plans below Enterprise are single-user, so area managers and HQ often share one account or rely on exports.
- Data, not decisions: A failed checklist item is just a row in a submissions table. Someone still has to spot it, chase it and confirm it was fixed.
- No operational context: Results don't sit next to sales, equipment history or training records, so you can't see whether a bad audit is costing you revenue.
Choose Jotform if: You run a handful of outlets, need simple forms quickly, and are comfortable managing follow-up by WhatsApp and spreadsheet.
Zenput (now Crunchtime Ops Execution) for store audits: strong for restaurant chains
Zenput built its name helping multi-unit restaurant and convenience brands enforce standards and food safety. After Crunchtime acquired it, the product was renamed Crunchtime Ops Execution in February 2026. It now sits inside a wider suite covering inventory, food cost, labour scheduling and learning.
What it does well is accountability. Tasks are assigned centrally, follow-ups trigger automatically when something fails, and leaders see completion in real time. Reviewers on G2 consistently praise its ease of use, though some report connectivity problems at critical moments.
The question for you is fit. Crunchtime describes itself as restaurant operations software, and the platform's value grows when you run more of the suite. If you operate gyms, clinics, enrichment centres or retail, or you're a franchisor whose ERP and POS sit outside that ecosystem, check how much of it you would actually use.
Choose Crunchtime Ops Execution if: You run a restaurant brand and want audits connected to Crunchtime's inventory and labour tools.
SafetyCulture (now Mitti) for store audits: the category leader, now going broad
Mitti is the most widely used name here. The company reports more than two million frontline workers across 80,000 organisations. With the August 2026 rebrand it is repositioning from inspections towards an all-in-one frontline operations system, including maintenance, training, AI issue creation and a 5-Star Benchmarking score for multi-site operators. It is also expanding its insurance business.
For audits specifically, it remains excellent: structured templates, photo evidence, corrective actions and a large template library. If your team already knows iAuditor, the learning curve is short.
What to test in a trial:
- Pricing at full rollout: Model both per-seat and per-site options against your real headcount, including part-timers and area managers.
- Reporting: Some reviewers find reports hard to customise. Build the report your COO actually wants during the trial.
- Where the score comes from: Benchmarking built on inspection history tells you which outlet is weakest on standards. Ask whether it also shows you which gaps are costing sales, using your own POS and ERP data.
Choose Mitti (formerly SafetyCulture) if: You want a proven, broad inspection platform across many industries and your priority is audit quality and safety.
Where store audit tools fall short for multi-outlet operators
An audit score of 82% tells you an outlet missed standards. It doesn't tell you whether that's why its sales fell 9% this month.
That's the gap most operations leaders actually live with. Consider how a small miss travels:
- A new part-timer was never trained on the chiller check.
- The temperature log is skipped for three nights.
- The chiller drifts out of range, and stock is written off.
- The outlet's food cost spikes and the audit fails.
- You find out at month-end P&L review, when it's too late to act.
Each step lives in a different place: training in a folder, the log on paper or in a form, maintenance in a WhatsApp group, sales in the POS, cost in the ERP. An audit tool on its own only sees step 4.
What operators need is the audit connected to the rest: training records, equipment history, stock movements and POS sales, so a dip in standards and a dip in revenue show up on the same screen, before the P&L closes.
TreeAMS: a SafetyCulture and Zenput alternative that closes the audit loop
Most audit tools are built to measure compliance. TreeAMS is built to improve it. An audit is only worth its cost if the problem gets fixed, stays fixed, and shows up in better results. That takes more than a good checklist. It takes a closed loop, run in one system.
Here is the loop TreeAMS runs for every finding, at every outlet:
- Find: Checklists and audits capture the issue on the floor, with photos, scores and a time-stamped audit trail.
- Fix: The failed item becomes a task with a named owner and a deadline. If it's equipment, it goes straight into Maintenance Management with the asset's history attached.
- Verify: The task is closed with evidence, and the next audit checks the same standard again. Managers see whether fixes are sticking, not just whether they were ticked off.
- Find the root cause: Training, quiz and certification records sit beside the finding. If the problem is people, you can retrain and recertify. If it's the process, you can update the SOP in the library.
- Measure the outcome: Performance Scorecards track each outlet's audit trend alongside POS sales, wastage, asset downtime and temperature data, with variance guardrails that flag a slide before the P&L closes.
Then the loop starts again, from a higher standard.
Audit performance tracking: see if outlets are improving, not just compliant
A standalone audit tool tells you how an outlet scored today. TreeAMS answers the questions your leadership team actually asks:
| The question | Where TreeAMS answers it |
| Is this outlet getting better or worse? | Quality Performance Insights and Performance Scorecards, trended over time |
| Are our fixes sticking? | Task and Workflow history matched against repeat audit results |
| Is it a people problem or an equipment problem? | Training and certification records beside Maintenance Management Insights |
| Is improvement paying off? | Audit scores beside POS sales and ERP cost data for the same outlet |
| Which outlets need a visit this week? | Outlet Management with variance guardrails across the whole network |
Total cost of auditing: one system instead of five apps
The real cost of auditing isn't the subscription. It's the training gap that becomes an audit failure, then a sales drop. It's the silent temperature deviation that becomes spoilage. It's the missed checklist that becomes a penalty.
The usual fix is another app. A form builder for audits, WhatsApp for follow-up, a shared drive for training, a chat group for maintenance, and spreadsheets to tie it together. Each one adds a login and another gap between them.
TreeAMS replaces that stack with one Operational Command System. Your area managers stop compiling reports and start coaching. Your HQ stops reacting to month-end numbers and starts acting on trends. And every audit you run builds a record of improvement you can show your board, your franchisees and your auditors.
Key features of TreeAMS multi-outlet audit software
TreeAMS is an Operational Command System built for multi-outlet operators and franchisors. Audits are where it starts, not where it stops.
- Audit and checklist management with photo evidence, scoring and scheduled audits across every outlet and shift.
- Failed items become assigned tasks, routed to the right person through Task and Workflow Management, and tracked until closed. Equipment failures go straight into Maintenance Management.
- The root cause is in the same system. SOP Library and Training, Quizzes & Certification sit beside your audits, so you can see whether a failing outlet has untrained staff.
- Results next to revenue. POS and ERP integrations (including LS Central, SAP, Odoo, Oracle, NetSuite and Microsoft 365) put audit scores, footfall, sales, asset downtime and temperature logs side by side, with variance guardrails that flag problems early.
- Performance Scorecards rank outlets on what actually matters to you, not just on inspection history. Franchisors also get multi-outlet revenue tracking and royalty collection.
- Built for the floor. A Quickstart Page tells each crew member what to do this shift, which helps with multi-shift, part-time and multilingual teams.
Practical details: TreeAMS runs as a Progressive Web App in any modern browser with nothing to install, offers flexible monthly payment terms with free scheduled orientation, and has completed a SOC 2 Type 1 audit and an independent VAPT security assessment.
How to choose a store audit app: 7 questions to ask every vendor
Ask every vendor, including us, these questions during your trial:
- What will it cost for every user at every outlet, including part-timers, area managers and franchisees?
- Can we run a real audit with photos in airplane mode, then sync without losing anything?
- When an item fails, who gets notified, and how do we prove it was fixed?
- Can we see audit scores alongside POS sales and ERP cost data for the same outlet?
- Can we link a failed audit to the training and SOP status of the staff on shift?
- How do franchisee outlets see their own data while HQ sees everything?
- How long until our first outlet is live, and who trains our team?
